Hi, I’m Susan Kiamba
and I’m here to move you from ‘I’m stuck’ to ‘I love my career’
10 years ago, I started my career journey with the big lie of ‘Get a job, any job. You’ll figure things out along the way.’ I didn’t know then that I would go through 10 years of pain in the banking industry trying to find the career that aligned with my strengths and breathed life and joy into my days at work.
Have you thought that a certain department would be your ideal, only to land there and be bored stiff? I’ve been there.
I worked in sales for 6 years thinking HR was where I was meant to be since I loved people development. I got an opportunity to be attached to HR for some time. I found some aspects of it boring. However, the experience did help me identify the aspects I enjoyed and that is how I ended up specialising in learning and development.
Are you really good at your current job but you know that you would like to change the direction of your career? I’ve been there
I had just identified Learning and development as a possible area of interest but I was good at my job so I stayed and learned how to grow myself into a promotion or worked myself out of a job. Two additional years of learning passed before I finally got to work in the department I was interested in.
Have you found your perfect job but the limited headcount came in your way? I’ve been there.
I found the work that I loved in Learning and Development but I couldn’t get the job because there was no headcount. I returned to my former department. Eventually a friend found a job that was better. I applied and shifted to a start-up which challenged me. I loved my new job.
Have you lost your dream job due to redundancy and you don’t know how to bounce back? I’ve been there.
Despite loving my job, two years marked the end of this part of my journey. Due to an extended volatile election period, the company was restructured and my position fell redundant. I lost my job. Little did I know that this apparent loss would become the platform from which I would start my business.
It was with the help of a mentor, coach and supportive friends that I found the career that PERFECTLY aligned with my knowledge, skills, competencies, strengths and interests.
You don’t need to go through 10 years of running around in circles to figure out that career that breathes life into you and puts your strengths front and centre.
I’m here to shortcut all that time you could lose and help you gain clarity and know which steps you need to take to arrive where you want to go.
I love my work because it allows me to take that was painful to me and turn it into your success story.
